Mail From Mythic #2

Okay, LAGWAR has received more goodies in our mailbox from the hardworking folks over at Mythic Entertainment.

It’s our very own Warhammer Online thumb drive! But wait….there’s more! Check out the image that was on the thumb drive titled, “WAR Exclusive Image 1″.

That’s where it got confusing for me. Maybe I haven’t been keeping up with the latest word from Mythic well enough, but I’m clueless as to what this is. So, if any of you readers out there will be so kind as to explain just what this is, it would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance to anyone who leaves us a comment and thanks to Mythic Entertainment for keeping us on the mailing list!

I believe the Warhammer afficionados can better explain what this is. Probably some Tomb Kings worm boss?

  2. avatar Ryver says:

I agree with Shiro. The sand around the base of the mob is there to denote the upcoming Tomb of Kings release this summer.

I’m not sure if I would label this as a worm or a tentacle. For some reason, I think the later. Notice that it appears to be armored and there are runes on that armor. What type of mob though, no idea there.

  3. avatar Kaarenyth says:

Very cool for Mythic to send that over to you. The art ROCKS. Very cool, tempted to start blogging as a result of these things so I can get onto Mythic’s mailing list!

The detail on the art is great.

No input here for lore sorry.

  4. avatar Jason says:

I think that the image is the tail of a Tomb Scorpion construct that is rising out of the sand.

  5. avatar Kushiele says:

If the end of the “tentacle” was just a bit more curved I’d think it could be a massive scorpion (think scorpion king kinda thing). I don’t know enough of the lore to speculate though. It is none the less an awesome image tho! Ok… where do I start a warhammer blog and how do I make sure mythic includes me? LOL

  6. avatar Brasus says:

From the looks of it your looking at a tomb king construct, they have thinks like the bone giants and anubri (I think thats who its spelled anubis looking humanoid dog soldiers) all constructed from corpses etc to form bigger things. Could just be a random tomb construct the tomb kings animated out of masses of bones etc. Would make the most sense based off the tomb kings lore. They tend to use those more as guards for tombs (duh) at the entrances etc.

    Hope that helps!

    Brasus.

  7. avatar Brasus says:

b4 I forget, it’s MOST likely a tomb scorpions tale, they have a habit of doing the bury themselves and surprise you thing, and their tales CAN whip around like what your seeing.

  8. avatar Serpens Khan (Dark Crag) says:

Can’t say if a Tomb Scorpion. Unfortly Game Workshop has requested removal of mostly tomb scorpion product pics. But put Warhammer Tomb Scorpion on google images and see thats a kinda different… Is more like a bone scorpion.
Btw, this stingers and runes are more like the art used on Slaanesh (Armies: Daemons of Chaos and Codex: Chaos Daemons) check Games Workshop’s Daemons of Chaos Gallery.
    Hugs!

  9. Ziss says:

thanks for the responses everyone, just from the little bit of speculation here and talk of tomb kings, i’m pumped for whatever it is : ) keep em coming, and thanks again to everyone who has and is to comment!

  10. avatar yadayada says:

    its a scorpions tail ya’llz

  11. avatar Xandr0ss says:

Its clearly a Scorpion tale if you look at the shape of the very tip it is so so similar to that of a real life scorpion and is a unique feature/shape. So yeah my money is on giant tomb scorpion boss of some kind that will be found in the new Dungeon.

  12. avatar Greg says:

Yeah, Xandr0ss seems to be right: here’s the Games Workshop page on Tomb Scorpions:
    http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat50011&prodId=prod1020025&rootCatGameStyle=

Large constructs imbued with mystical hieroglyphics. Trust me, the guy in that picture does NOT want to be that close to the tail! ;)

  13. Looks like the tail of a tomb Scorpion to me
