Pricing details for Microsoft’s latest addition to the Windows line of operating systems has emerged. Consumers should be pleased to know that the Windows 7 pricing scheme isn’t really any different than what we saw with Windows Vista and Windows XP.
Actually, if you factor inflation into the equation, it’s a solid deal for what is turning out to be a solid product. Also, there’s a special deal in-store for those of you who are in the market for a new PC right now. Can you say, two-fer?
Below are the various Windows 7 editions and their respective price tags. Windows 7 will hit retail stores Oct. 22nd, 2009.

*Windows 7 Home Premium – $199.99 (Upgrade – $119.99)
*Windows 7 Professional – $299.99 (Upgrade – $199.99)
*Windows 7 Ultimate – $319.99 (Upgrade – $219.99)
Microsoft announced in June that those who bought a new Vista Home Premium, Business, or Ultimate PC before Win7’s Oct 22nd release would receive a free Win7 upgrade once the OS has launched. Kudos to me as I recently purchased a new Dell XPS M1730 SLI Gaming Laptop loaded with Vista Premium. Thank the bit-lords that I will have a free Win7 upgrade for my laptop to save me from thy hell of Vista.
