I started gaming a loooooong time ago, in a far away place. NJ to be precise. The simple version is that iIwas a final fantasy addict and I played them all and purchased whatever console they were on all the way to the PS3. I mainly played RPGs which was tough since most of my friends that were into games played sports games. I’m abysmal at sports games. Eventually I got into PC gaming, my first real PC games were X-wing vs. TIE fighter, The World of XEEN, and Warcraft 2. I graduated from those and several others I can’t remember and went on to play Warcraft 3 and DOTA, Final Fantasy XI (a short lived affair since my computer died and I was trying to graduate college), several Red Alert C & C’s, and many more. My addiction to strategy games really started with the PC and Starcraft, WC3 did a great job of keeping me occupied, but my serious gaming didn’t start until I got my first intravenous injection of WoW. I mean, HOT DAMN did that game blow away final fantasy XI and pretty much everything else I had played up to that point, I’ll never forget shadowmelded aimed shots. good times, or the nearly 48 hour leveling session after the Burning Crusade came out. Anyway, a few years of WoW and I was ready to move on and take my job and life more seriously. I left during TBC to play WAR, and I’ve since picked up Demigod. I’m very much into the PvP side of gaming these days, and I’m always up for a good challenge. Myself and Raim (of MMO Weakly fame) are currently challenging any and all comers for a 2v2 match. Oh, and Chrono Trigger 1 was pretty damn sweet too.
Moment I knew I was a gamer – When I made the decision to get whatever console Final Fantasy went to after SNES.
I fully support containing your own garbage…. and blinking at crucial times.
Cheers
