Registration
Registration is FREE! It is done by emailing the tournament coordinator: Tournaments@Lagwar.com

The email subject must say the format (2v2 ) and the team name. i.e. “2v2 Lagwarriors”

The email must include:

    1. Team Name

    2. Names of the team members WITH A LINK for each player’s Demigod games list. i.e. Sarc – http://pantheon.demigodthegame.com/games/player/43166/ and Raim – http://pantheon.demigodthegame.com/player/37715

    3. An email address where each member can be reached to deliver information about the rounds.

    4. The country where the team members are located! Outside of North America, teams will need to go through a ping verification process before you are officially admitted. Lying will not help you bypass this. Teams whose players regularly spike over 350 ping will or whose lag causes an undue amount of game delay be dropped from the tournament.

    5. You may submit a preference for your game start time. Games will start between 7pm and 8pm EST Monday through Friday. You should plan on the possibility that matches could last up to 3 hours! Your preference will be taken into account when possible, but scheduling conflicts will take priority over start preferences.

    6. Your team may select up to TWO days that you are unavailable for play at these times. If you cannot play on at least THREE weekdays your team will be put at the back of the list of registrants.

Registration will be on a first come first served basis!

Format
2v2 on Crucible Cataract : Conquest

*Best of 3 games will decide the winner of the match-up for the round.
    * Demigods can be changed between rounds, no more than 2 of any particular demigod on a team No team doubles of any demigod are allowed! (i.e. 2x Oak on one team)
    * All favor items are allowed so you better earn your points now!

Prizes
2v2 format:

    *1st place team: $200
    *2nd place team $100
    *3rd place team $50

** $ amounts are estimated prize values. i.e. Each member of the first place 2v2 team would get a prize valued at $100. Actual prizes will be posted shortly before registration begins. These will range from PC hardware and accessories to other PC gaming related items and/or cash.

** As of now prizes are cash. Other options may be implemented later. Prizes to be distributed within 45 days to allow shipping and coordinating times between all sponsors, Lagwar, and tournament participant parties.

1st place teams also receive mad bragging rights.

Organization

2v2 Tourney will be held over 2 weeks (ideally, longer if required), beginning the week of October 7th (subject to change). This is dependent on registrants and available play times.

Tournament rounds will be held on weeknights with the first game of the round starting no earlier than 7pm EST. Set your Tivo’s/DVR’s up now!

For each 10 minute period that a game lobby waits for a player to be ready to start the game (showing up or just clicking ready) a loss will be attributed to the deficient team. After waiting for 5 minutes, this must be reported to a Lagwar representative for verification at 10 minutes.

For each round, players will receive the game start time, the game name, the password for their game, and which player is selected to host the game in an email. If the selected host knows they will be unable to host, they need to respond to the email ASAP to alert the tournament coordinator, responding with fewer than 24 hours before the tournament will result in a penalty.

All teams must use a VoIP system, Lagwar will have Ventrilo server(s) available for this (see here), but any alternative is acceptable. This requirement is to give all teams an even footing for communication.

Lagwar representatives will be in the Lagwar Ventrilo Server during each round to deal with any problems/issues/forfeitures.

The game host must notify the tournament coordinator when the best of 3 rounds is decided so that the result may be verified using the Stardock reporting system. All participants are advised to take screenshots to dispute any inaccuracies in reporting by the Stardock system.

Disconnects do not convey any sort of re-do, do-over, or mercy.

Send any questions about registration, the format, the prizes, or organization to Tournaments@Lagwar.com. Additionally you can contact the tournament coordinators at Sarc@Lagwar.com or Ziss@lagwar.com with questions.

Earlier iterations of the site were launched in 2007 under a different name. The site eventually underwent a full takeover by it’s current management lineup in Fall of 2008. How will the ladder be decided? Similar ranks, random, polarized ranks?

  5. Sarc Sarc Said,

Randomly generated matches. Behind every good tournament there’s a d20 of some sort.
