With the proliferation of Web 2.0 social networks, you can’t leave your gaming out of Twitter and Facebook posts! Well, here is a quick start guide to enlivening your web social infrastructure and making you the toast of your social network. Everyone shall bow before your shockingly awe-filled super powers!
Configure FACEBOOK and TWITTER from inside the Champions Online game client:
- Type /socialMedia and setup a screenshot bind: bind [key] social_screenshot – I use ` to bind
- On the settings gear button, you configure your User Name and Password for each of your favorite social media tools: Twitter, Facebook, LiveJournal, and Raptr.
After the system confirms your authentication information, you select what items you would like to post into your Twitter and Facebook pages (in my case). Notice I am very light on what I selected. Select what you want posted (you do get spammy on your profile if not careful). If you were to select all of the items: Screenshot, Blog, Level Up, Perk, Items, Super Group, then you will fill up your profile in minutes of game play. Imagine every perk unlock hitting Facebook.
My first couple of days, I did not realize about every time I did something in the game I was spamming my profile. I received a lot of text messages and emails asking me interesting questions about my latest strange post.
- /social_screenshot posts to Facebook or your blog. You must have the check box next to screenshot item for this to work.
- /tweet [text] sends the message of your choice to Twitter
Here is what a Facebook profile entry looks like with exciting social commentary from your game play experiences:
Additionally, Cryptic and MashON.com announced a partnership that allows you to use your screenshots to create comics via MashON services. I own the legacy Comic Book Creator (a Windows application) that is no longer available. It’s not available, because MashOn purchased the system and placed it in its portfolio of online services. You can check out more on this service Make your own comics!.
That is all there is to it! Now go forth and impress your friends and family with your amazing new super social skills!
