Guild Wars 2 lead designer, Eric Flannum, has just posted up a fantastic developer diary. In this diary he talks everything from Guild Wars 2 basics to the skill-system and the 10-slot skill bar. Also revealed is the game's first class, the Elementalist! Also explained is that your character's first five skills are determined by your choice of weapon and profession. Later, Flannum states like in Guild Wars original, most professions can equip two weapon sets and swap very quickly between the two during combat.

I know we have all been eagerly awaiting new information on Guild Wars 2 and we're drooling for a release date. Well, it looks like the flow of information is finally here. Which means that a release date announcement might just be in the near future as well.

Head over to the official Guild Wars 2 website and check out the developer diary for more information on the Elementalist, tactical combat mechanics, and a whole lot more!
