Quakecon starts this Thursday!

That’s right. Quakecon 2012 officially begins this Thursday at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, TX. This year’s lineup looks great and I can’t wait to hit the showroom floor, especially since there will be a playable demo available of Dishonored, the upcoming stealth/steampunk/role-playing game by Arkane Studios. I was also fortunate enough to be invited […]

PAX East 2010 Review and Final Thoughts

PAX East 2010 has come and gone but plenty of good memories remain. Despite size issues with the venue and some minor logistic flaws in the media design, the first Penny Arcade Expo to hit the East Coast was certainly a widespread success. Over the course of three days in March 2010 myself and 60,000 […]

PAX East 2010: 25 things I learned at PAX

2010-03-27 11.23.30

Last weekend was the debut of the Penny Arcade Expo or PAX, on the east coast. It was also the first non-Blizzcon gaming convention I have had the chance to attend. I had the fortune of having Lagwar pay my way in, being able to stay with some friends near the convention center, and living close enough to Boston that I could take a bus – so the whole event was pretty cheap and easy for me. Not everyone is that lucky, but don’t worry for those of you who couldn’t make the event I have summarized PAX East 2010 in 50 points, it’ll be like you were there – except you weren’t.

Fallen Earth v1.4 and v1.5 Preview from PAX East 2010

Fallen Earth Deadfall Zone

At the top of our “get more info” list during PAX East 2010 sat the post-apocalyptic MMORPG/FPS Fallen Earth. In recent dev diaries and state of the game posts we’ve heard mention of the upcoming patch versions 1.4 and 1.5 – with v1.4 increasing the level cap to 50 and v1.5 being the PVP patch. […]

Fallen Earth iPhone App Hands On Demo

PAX East 2010 was full of goodies, but Day 2 held our interest just a wee-bit more than the rest. Why? Because we got a fantastic hands on demo with the upcoming Fallen Earth iPhone application, slated for a Q2 release. Now I’ve used the WoW Armory app for the iPhone and it works great. […]
