Sims 2: Delight or Death?

Posted by admin On July - 30 - 2008

I’ve always considered myself a casual Sims player. I’ve followed the game since forever and have enjoyed Sims 2 very much. It wasn’t until a few months ago, I began purchasing expansions for the game and found myself becoming more and more addicted every time I played. I was finding things to do with my Sims that weren’t possible before my expansions. I never knew Sims could become pregnant as teenagers (and yes, this includes males) or become zombies. Now that I have become fully addicted to my Sims, I started wondering how other people manage their Sims. Do they make them have wonderful, perfect lives? Or destroy them with killer plants and “suicide?” After watching many videos from other players, I have came to the conclusion: We like to see Sims suffer. Not in just one way, but in many ways. Most of the time, we don’t just want them to suffer, we want them to die. Players (and myself) find it entertaining when a Sim is electrocuted or killed by swarming flies. There are numerous videos on how to kill Sims and I find each one amusing. It may seem morbid, but I can’t wait to try them out. So if I’m wrong and not everyone wants his or her Sims to suffer, let me know. Or if you have been really creative and cruel to your Sims, I want to know about that too, so that I may try it out as well. Thanks! -Brilen

World of Warcraft TCG - “It’s Actually a Game?”

Posted by admin On July - 29 - 2008

I’m sure we’ve all seen the World of Warcraft Trading Cards by now, or at least have seen some of the loot you can obtain from them in the World of Warcraft MMO. But is this all that the WoW TCG cards have become? Loot? When the WoW TCG launched I was on the front lines. I kept up with the pre-launch updates, sneak peeks, and hype religiously. Post-release I was at my local card shop purchasing cards, travelling to Upper Deck WoW TCG tourney’s, and other various events quite frequently to build various decks and trading cards with other players to strengthen my decks. Then something amazing happened……wait for it…..The Burning Crusade was released. Since then, Read the rest of this entry »

Give Me Liberty or Give me Death…uh..Penalty!

Posted by admin On July - 23 - 2008

So we’re all quite aware of the death penalty in Age of Conan by now. You die, a tombstone appears, you resurrect and run back to where you died to click on the tombstone to clear the death penalty. Or you simply don’t worry about it and wait the 30 minute duration. But that’s the catch, you don’t wait the 30 minutes. The death penalty is so small you really can’t tell a difference unless the penalties are stacked tenfold. There have been requests on the forums from hardcore and casual players alike for FC to please revamp this feature. Personally it’s not a huge deal to me, but I don’t really understand why there is even a death penalty if this is it. The only thing it creates for me is a meta-game in which it’s MY tombstone and I want it back! So, I run back to avenge my death and reclaim my tombstone. Will we see this be revamped down the road? What would you like to see implemented?
