Day of Reckoning Announced…WAR Arrives Sept 18th

Posted by admin On August - 7 - 2008

Click here for the full announcement from EA Mythic on the launch date of Warhammer Age of Reckoning. WAAAGH! will rule the world on September 18th, 2008. The sales numbers will be phenomenal. Also, congrats to everyone who picked up a North American Collector’s Edition and sorry to the rest of you who weren’t able to since they’re sold out. But you can still get some nice perks from pre-ordering a regular copy of the game. Hopefully there won’t be issues with the pre-order companies distributing awards on time, or selling more than they really had to the likes of what happened with the Age of Conan launch. Grab your tent and camping gear, let’s go! -ziss@lagwar.com

“Age of Coming Together” - A Hyborian Tale

Posted by admin On August - 4 - 2008

Age of Conan podcasts, blogs, videos, and reviews such as The Hyborian Herald are popping up everywhere these days so it’s pretty easy for a potential new player to get the low down. But personally I’m afraid that the unhappy loud minority of AoC players and former players may have already tarnished a game with great potential. Hopefully sites and podcasts like Lagwar and The Hyborian Herald can get our message through. The game has come a long way since launch. Honestly, the AoC launch was really smooth for me. But by the forums and other web boards, AoC outsiders may not know that quite a few of us had great launch experiences. I didn’t experience any client crashes or any problems with the servers either. The main problem has been, and still is to some degree for me, the memory leaks. The video above shows a problem I experienced about a month ago with some type of memory leak. Within the last few patches this game has soared by leaps and bounds in gameplay and smoothness. The game plays steady for the most part now as compared to launch when you would tend bounced from 60fps to 10fps. Read the rest of this entry »
